The ethylene cold box, one of the core equipment for Fujian Zhongsha Gulei 1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream deep processing consortium project, has recently completed the erection. This marks the successful delivery of the world's largest modular ethylene cold box. SABIC, the project partner highly recognizes and congratulates Zhongtai on its breakthrough in the field of cold box manufacturing!
This cold box contains 29 large plate fin heat exchangers and multiple pressure vessels, with an overall weight of over 1000 tons. A single heat exchanger has achieved heat transfer between more than ten different media with different pressures, compositions, and phases. The structure of the heat exchanger is complex, with up to 40 headers, making the design and manufacturing of the heat exchanger a new challenge!
This cold box has broken the record for the largest modular integrated ethylene cold box in terms of cold box integration, single processing capacity, cold box size, weight, and other aspects. This marks a new level in the design and manufacturing capabilities of Zhongtai for complex plate fin heat exchangers and cold box modularization!
